Title: AWS Quest
Post by: mjandersen on March 10, 2018, 08:57:10 PM
Creating a thread here because I've been poking away at the Amazon Web Services puzzle trail (brought in part by Lone Shark Games) off and on, and could use a second set of eyes in a place where conversations are moderately convenient.

The introductory blog: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/join-the-aws-quest-help-me-to-rebuild-ozz/ (https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/join-the-aws-quest-help-me-to-rebuild-ozz/)
Google Doc I've been tackling the more content-heavy puzzles: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OFvY0kqA1Qkz8kQpcyoDlr_7jwyJGmGiTfGm7TOLUls/ (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OFvY0kqA1Qkz8kQpcyoDlr_7jwyJGmGiTfGm7TOLUls/)

Puzzle #1: Audio (unsolved):
Spoiler: show
If you check out the AWS podcast linked in the article, the tail end of the podcast (http://d1le29qyzha1u4.cloudfront.net/AWS_Podcast_Episode_234.mp3) mentions a "word of the day" that sounds vaguely like "kwivne erol"

Puzzle #2: Spheres (unsolved)
Spoiler: show
Bunch of AWS-adjacent Twitter accounts started tweeting what look to be cryptic crossword clues, decodable under ROT ciphers of either 14 or 20. They're still adding new ones, with "Amazon Spheres" (of influence, eh?) being the term that shows up the most.

Ones that I found so far:

I created a Google Sheet for this since it's obviously going to get cumbersome quickly, it's linked above.

Puzzle #3: Comments (unsolved)
Spoiler: show
In trying to find people talking about AWS Quest, I stumbled across a number of blog posts tagged with "AWS Quest" - almost all of them (The Wheel being the only exception) had comments from the same AWS employee with bolded words in a foreign language.

As with Spheres, I have everything I've found (with translations when I can find them) in a the Google Sheet linked above.
